Confidence in Assistive Technology Day – Friday 28th June 2019

On behalf of Jenny Anderton, Manager of Higher York Access Centre, colleagues are invited to a Confidence in Assistive Technology Day!

Confidence in Assistive Technology Day – 2019

09:00 – 16:00

Friday 28th June

De Grey Foyer – York St John University

***

Are you 100% confident the documents you create are accessible?

Would you like to learn more about the assistive software students are using, and how using these yourself could benefit your work?

Would you like to learn about free apps and software to support students who can’t access this software?

***

We invite you to attend our Confidence in Assistive Technology Event, where we will explore 4 of the most recommended pieces of assistive technology – Global Autocorrect, TextHelp Read and Write, MindView and Sonocent Audio Notetaker (YSJ staff and students have access to these on the network).

We will learn about how important and easy it is to create accessible teaching resources, and how to support students who don’t or can’t access Disabled Students’ Allowance, using free software and apps.

There will be lunch, a CPD certificate and access to our learning resources for all attendees.

***

Booking is essential via our Eventbrite Page –
