Getting Ready for the 2024 -25 Academic Year – Part 2: Choosing the right assessment tool

What assessment tool or platform should we use?

One of the most common questions the TEL Team are asked is which assessment tool is best to use with students.

At it’s core an assessment is a task which will give students the opportunity to demonstrate their learning. Planning not just what students will do but how you will collect the submissions, and how assessors will give marks and feedback.  Familiarity with the available technologies helps to expand the possibilities at this stage.

Important

Please note that the ‘Code of Practice for Assessment and Academic-Related Matters’ should be referred to in conjunction with the York St John University Regulations and programme specifications, when considering an appropriate assessment tool to ensure compliance to University policy.
