This year’s series focuses on Adobe Express and York St John University’s exciting new partnership as part of the Adobe Creative Campus Initiative.
Day One gives a few FAQs about the Adobe Creative Campus Initiative here at YSJ and Adobe Express.
What is the Adobe Creative Campus Initiative?
In September, our Chief Information Officer, Emma Woodcock, announced that York St John University had secured a ground-breaking agreement with Adobe. This partnership provides all staff and students with access to Adobe Express, complementing the existing provision of Adobe Creative Cloud (CC).
This milestone follows five years of dedicated negotiation by UCISA and JISC to ensure a cost-effective arrangement for the sector. Through the Adobe Creative Campus scheme, YSJ will receive tailored support and resources from Adobe over the next 12 months.
The Adobe Creative Campus Initiative recognises institutions worldwide that equip students across all disciplines with vital digital skills. As a Creative Campus, YSJ will join a global community sharing best practices in innovation and fostering success for students both in the classroom and beyond.
What are the benefits for students?
All YSJ students now have equitable access to Adobe Express, enabling them to:
- Create modern, professional outputs such as videos, podcasts, webpages, infographics, and data visualisations.
- Harness generative AI features through Adobe Firefly, exploring the transformative potential of AI in education and industry.
- Earn certified Adobe badges in essential digital skills, such as visual communication, social media presence, and understanding generative AI.
These tools and certifications empower students to stand out in their academic and professional endeavours.
What are the benefits to becoming an Adobe Creative Campus for staff?
Staff also have access to Adobe Express and the broader suite of Creative Cloud tools, enabling them to:
- Create engaging content such as videos, presentations, infographics, and podcasts to enhance teaching and learning.
- Develop their digital fluency and explore innovative teaching methods.
Additionally, staff can join YSJ’s growing Community of Practice, where they can access self-paced or live training sessions to deepen their skills.
