‘TEL’ Me About… QR and AR

A QR code (or quick response code) is a barcode that can be scanned to provide access to information from a mobile device (smart phone, iPad etc.). In an educational context, this could be a link to lecture slides, handouts, journal articles, e-books and much more! Augmented Reality brings an extra dimension to learning and creates an active learning experience. Using the technology you are able to augment sound, video, graphics and GPS data to a live environment.  Join us for this session if you want to see how QR codes and Augmented Reality could be used at YSJ.

You can allow the quiz to be attempted multiple times, with the questions shuffled or randomly selected from the question bank. A time limit may also be set. Each attempt is marked automatically, with the exception of essay questions, and the grade is recorded in the gradebook.
Quizzes are currently being used at YSJ for:

  • Summative exams
  • Formative tests for reading assignments or at the end of a topic
  • As exam practice using questions from past exams
  • To deliver immediate feedback about performance
  • For self-assessment

Join us at this session to find out how easy it is to get started with Moodle Quizzes.

No problem – Piktochart is an easy to use tool that helps non-designers create visually appealing posters and infographics.  Use one of Piktocharts templates to present your data or build your own with their built in graphics and visuals. Whether you are wanting to create a poster to disseminate your own research or you would like you students to create one to disseminate theirs, Piktochart might be the tool for you.
